Maybe you have never heard of the Bulgarian prophet Vanga? Allegedly, she was a person who can see in the future, give instructions for healing, talking to the dead etc. For most people from the west, the story about Vanga would seem like a myth or legends and they might say that she was just a propaganda instrument for the communist regime in the country in the time when she lived.
Still, even today – 24 years after the fall of the regime, there is no one in the country, who would “debunk” Vanga. On the opposite – there are hundreds of people who can testify on her abilities and disperse all doubts that she was a fraud. There are several movies and books with testimonies, studies and researches on Vanga’s life and none of them could find an evidence that she did not have the supernatural abilities people attributed to her.
If you want to read a good book about her, I can recommend you Zheni Kostadinova’s book “Vanga’s Secrets”, which gives most insights on her life, people’s experiences with her and tries to give explanations on the mysteries surrounding her. The book is published by Svetoslav Kantardjiev’s publishing house New Media Group, and in my humble opinion, it is the best one on the topic of Vanga.
It is hard to believe, with the many frauds today that what Vanga did is possible and that it wasn’t staged. Personally for me, she was what kept me from becoming an absolute atheist.
